Super Chunky Tagua Nut Rings
     | Tagua nut, aka vegetable ivory, is a natural, sustainable material from the rainforests of South America. As an environmentally-friendly alternative to tusk ivory, it's elephant-friendly, as well! Tagua is hard, smooth and glossy, like polished wood, and is fairly sturdy but should still be treated with care. The majority, but not all, of the rings have the tagua nut hole on the back end (photo #3). Some rings have a small crack in the interior of the band (see photo #4) but this is natural and the ring is still sturdy. I have not listed any ring where the crack is not smooth and comfortable to the touch. I have weeded out any uneven cracks, though they are still wearable (you just have to slide the ring on a bit slower). These rings are super chunky! Many are also chunky in the back, some to the point that I could not comfortably bend my finger, so I weeded those ones out, as well. The remaining rings are all, in my opinion, comfortable to wear. Some are still chunkier than others, of course, which is why I've photographed each piece separately — this way, you can judge for yourself! Naturally, the shorter the back of the ring, the less you will feel it. The last photo shows the length of my finger, for your reference. Listed in order from smallest to largest. |
