Can't you just smell the charcoal? These Japanese Veggie Rings make me want to get in the backyard and fire up the grill! They're wearable, colourful slices of summer.

Also admiring:

There is a significant, perplexing scarcity of hydrangeas in the realm of flower jewellery. Roses, daisies and sundry nondescript five-petal figures are common but, for some reason, not the lovely hydrangea. Helping to remedy that situation is Hong Kong's A.G.F.C. Accessories.

Bonus link:

Resin ring with embedded hydrangeas by Italy's REDbold.

Also admiring:

Hydrangea earrings by Japan's Nature House.

Simple and loopy: qualities that don't make for the sharpest person, but that do make for great rings. Check out the UK's Dorota Todd.

Bonus link:

More loopy rings from the UK's Jo Lavelle.

Also admiring:

Cloud necklace by Oregon's Loop Jewelry (Lauren Greenwalt).

Though I'm able to eat chicken eggs, quail eggs absolutely creep me out. I can't explain it. Perhaps the problem is that they keep being presented as something to eat rather than something to wear, like these resin cuties From the designer behind Japan's Yumemeland.

Bonus link:

This desert rose ring resembles a stack of broken eggshells! By Montreal's Evelyne b.

Also admiring:

Bacon, eggs & toast earrings, in glass, by Seattle's Jessica Landau.

These charming little rings aren't just a series of cubes and pyramids.

They're little skylines! The non-rings are equally charming, so go check out the whole collection from Italy's Gi (Ginevra Dondina).

Bonus link:

More geometry from the UK's Joli Joli Jewellery.

Also admiring:

Little cubes from Belgium's Dominique Lietaert.

We're already more than halfway through April. As I ponder, uncomfortably, the quickening sands of time, enjoy the "Passing" series by Chinese artst Xin Liu (currently an MFA candidate at RISD). To fully appreciate these rings — which bring to mind Tibetan sand painting — you must check out the quick video.

Bonus link:

Pink sand-in-resin ring by Bermuda's La Garza Bermuda (Tara Cassidy).

Also admiring:

"Decreasing Moments" from "Slipping Time" by Belgium's An Jonckers.

Going traditional today, with the classic "fine gems and gold" routine, but the results here are not at all ordinary. I was immediately struck by the gorgeous colours of these stones so it was no surprise to read this in the designer's bio:

Brooke hand selects specific gemstones for their outstanding beauty and soul. For Brooke, a perfect stone also has to evoke an emotional reaction. Her well developed eye and search for stones with special qualities often reveals overlooked gems whose depth of color and unique characteristics attract the intuitive wearer.

To see the collection, visit L.A.-born, London-based Brooke Gregson.

Bonus link:

Aquamarine + mini-diamond ring by Japan's Cahier.

Also admiring:

Pretty amethyst stud by Japan's Bororo (Akiko Akachi).

I don't know if there's a single word to describe this fluted, radial, star-polygonal style, but I love the distinctive look that the UK's Flora Bhattachary has developed in her jewellery. (Anyone else have a sudden craving for Bundt cake?)

Bonus link:

More fluting in this ruins-inspired pillar ring by COMPLETEDWORKS (UK siblings Anna & Mark Jewsbury).

Also admiring:

Bundt cake necklace by Austria's Pioline (Pia Zonsits).

This ring accurately reflects my feelings about it, key word being "reflect." The text is in reverse because it's a rubber stamp! So. Cute.

Get your own stempelring from Germany's KIZZU.

Bonus link:

More stamp rings from California's Matters of Delight (formerly Plastique).

Also admiring:

Ceramic "Stamped & Sealed" pendants by the Netherlands' Kiki van Eijk.

These rings are impressive. Literally. In Belgian jeweller Kaat De Groef's own words: "Instead of making a print in sealing-wax, these signet rings make a print directly into the skin of the wearer, as an identification of the jewellery designer."

Bonus link:

Mermaid signet ring by LHN Jewelry (New York-based Brit Lewis Williams).

Also admiring:

Pendants with matching signet rings by the UK's Effra.

I own a pair of Kyoko Hashimoto earrings and even that's small consolation for the fact that I don't own any of her punchy rings. The Australian jeweller combines brass (both powder-coated and not) with polyurethane drops to make these "Double Scoop" rings.

Bonus link:

Prefer single scoop, with toppings? Ice cream ring by Japan's Teatime in a Birdcage.

Also admiring:

Iced cookie pendants by Japan's Jardim (Marina Ishii).

These rings are made of Corian, which is often used in kitchen decor, which makes me think of home renovations, which reminds me of the drywall fiasco I've been enduring for three weeks, which makes me want to pull a George Michael. "Way to make it about you, Alice!" the UK's Sophie Thomas might say.

Bonus link:

Clear, non-Corian acrylic from Polish jeweller Ela Piętak.

Also admiring:

Colourful acrylic from Japan's 4ma4ma ("ShimaShima").

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Even a corrupt figure skating judge would have to give these rings a 237.61 (or whatever a perfect score is under that new points system). For more, visit Pennsylvania's Peter Antor, whose work "embraces [his] passion for architecture and jewelry."

Bonus link:

Architectural house ring by Toronto's VenusVelvet (Carolyn Jankovskis).

Also admiring:

Architectural plaster brooches by the UK's Abbie Williams.

I can't believe I lived during a time when a storage capacity of 1.44MB was actually useful. Nowadays? Those floppy disks are good for one thing only: making rings. Check out these recycled disk and plexiglas rings by Belgium's Ilke Matthys!

Bonus link:

Go back even further to the Iron Age with these rings from Vivasmith (Toronto's Deborah Vivas).

Also admiring:

Disc pendant by Oregon's McKenzie Mendel.

Go for the monochrome.

But stay for the spectrum.

Whether you prefer the stark palette of the "Citi;zen" Corian rings or the range of hues in their other collections, there's tons to love when it comes to Lithuania's OkiikO (graphic designer Laura Tulaite and architect Eivaras Rastaukas).

Bonus link:

Rings lined on the inside in black-and-white or colour, by Japan's Makoto Tojiki.

Also admiring:

More black, white and colour from Australia's Kristen Nicole.
